Why Exercise
Physical activity can prevent many major illnesses. Evidence shows that regular exercise can:
· Promote healthy blood sugar levels to prevent or control type 2 diabetes
· Promote bone density to protect bone weakening disease such as osteoporosis
· Reduce the overall risk of certain cancers – exercise increases the speed food passes through the gut carrying with it toxins and carcinogens
· Increase levels of HDL or “good” cholesterol – reducing the risk of developing heart attack or stroke
· Controls blood pressure – reducing the risk of developing heart disease
· Boosts the immune system
· Boosts self-confidence and help prevent depression, exercise releases endorphins, the body’s natural well being and pain killing hormone
· Improves lung function – your lungs develop greater capacity enabling you to taking in oxygen to nourish your cells
· Exercise with weights will strengthen and tone those muscles. Muscle is an extremely active tissue which is very effective at burning calories
· Different exercises help with all sorts of health niggles, such as digestion, poor posture and sleeplessness, and physical activity can be beneficial for a range of medical conditions, from diabetes to lower back pain.
